Bicelle Formation

Bicelle Formation is a membrane self-assembly process in which long-chain and short-chain phospholipids segregate into distinct membrane domains to form disk-like lipid bilayers stabilized by a rim of edge-aligned micellar lipids, enabling the creation of tunable model membrane systems for structural and biophysical studies.
