Benefit-sharing Agreements
Benefit-Sharing Agreements is a term for a legally binding contractual arrangement, typically negotiated between resource developers or other users and Indigenous peoples or local communities, that sets out the conditions of access to and use of lands, resources or associated knowledge and specifies how resulting monetary and non-monetary benefits will be fairly allocated in recognition of the latter’s rights and interests.
