Beatrice Tradition

The "Beatrice Tradition" is a literary construct within Courtly Love Literature in which the beloved, typically idealized and unattainable, functions as a spiritual and moral guide who inspires the lover’s personal ennoblement through distant, reverent adoration, originating in Dante’s portrayal of Beatrice in *La Vita Nuova* and the *Divine Comedy*.
