Barotropic Flow

Barotropic Flow is a type of fluid flow in atmospheric and oceanic dynamics in which density depends solely on pressure, implying that isopycnals (surfaces of constant density) are parallel to isobars (surfaces of constant pressure), resulting in wind or current velocity that is independent of height or depth.
