Balanced Dynamics

Balanced Dynamics is a theoretical framework in atmospheric and oceanic fluid dynamics that belongs to the class of models describing large-scale motions under the assumption of a dominant geostrophic balance, distinguished by its explicit filtering of fast, unbalanced inertial-gravity waves to isolate slowly evolving, dynamically coherent flow structures.
