Backtracking Structure
Backtracking Structure is a structural model in molecular biology that characterizes the conformational state of RNA polymerase when the enzyme reverses direction along the DNA template during transcriptional elongation, thereby distinguishing it from canonical elongation complexes by its reversed translocation geometry and associated downstream DNA scrunching.
