Backdraft
Backdraft is a combustion phenomenon in fire dynamics characterized by the explosive or rapid burning of premixed fuel gases and air upon reintroduction of oxygen into a ventilation-limited, fire-compromised compartment, distinguishing it from other fire growth mechanisms by its dependence on restricted oxygen supply followed by sudden oxidizer influx.
