Backbone Reconstruction

Backbone Reconstruction is a computational method in ab initio structure prediction that specifically entails the determination of the three-dimensional conformation of a protein's polypeptide backbone from its amino acid sequence, distinguishing itself from full-atom modeling by focusing exclusively on the spatial arrangement of backbone atoms (N, Cα, C) to enable subsequent side-chain placement and refinement.
