B-plane Analysis

B-Plane Analysis is a methodological framework in astrodynamics that characterizes the geometry of a spacecraft’s approach or departure trajectory relative to a target celestial body by analyzing the position and velocity vectors projected onto a plane perpendicular to the incoming asymptote of the hyperbolic trajectory, thereby enabling precise targeting and orbit insertion maneuvers.
