Auger Ionization

Auger Ionization is a quantum mechanical process in atomic physics whereby an atom undergoes ionization through the non-radiative transition of an electron from a higher energy level to fill an inner-shell vacancy, simultaneously ejecting another bound electron, known as the Auger electron, without the emission of electromagnetic radiation.
