Array Manifold Modeling is a mathematical framework that characterizes the spatial response of a hydrophone array to acoustic sources as a function of direction, frequency, and array geometry, distinguishing itself by explicitly mapping the relationship between source location and the resulting complex-valued sensor outputs across the array.
