Archaic Greece

Archaic Greece is a historical period in ancient Greek history, spanning from the 8th to the 5th century BCE, characterized by the emergence of the Greek city-state (polis), the development of alphabetic writing, and the formation of distinctive artistic, political, and religious institutions that distinguish it from the preceding Geometric and succeeding Classical periods.
