Approximate Groups

Approximate Groups is a mathematical framework in additive combinatorics that generalizes the notion of a group by allowing the product set of a symmetric set with itself to be covered by a bounded number of translates of the set, thereby capturing algebraic structure in settings where exact closure under the group operation fails.
