Anticausative Constructions

Anticausative Constructions is a syntactic-semantic phenomenon in Valency Typology whereby a transitive verb is morphosyntactically marked to express an intransitive construction in which the object of the transitive counterpart becomes the subject, without an external agent, thereby deriving a causative-intransitive alternation with an inherent focus on the affected participant.
