Alternate Host Dynamics

Alternate Host Dynamics is a biological phenomenon in plant pathology whereby a rust fungus requires two phylogenetically distinct host species to complete its life cycle, with the dynamics governing the temporal, spatial, and physiological interactions between the primary and alternate hosts enabling pathogen survival, genetic recombination, and disease spread.
