Aggregation-prone Sequence Elements

Aggregation-Prone Sequence Elements is a structural bioinformatics construct denoting specific short amino acid sequence motifs that, by virtue of their hydrophobicity, low net charge, and propensity for β-sheet formation, exhibit an elevated tendency to mediate protein misfolding and amyloid-like aggregation compared to other sequence elements.
