Aeolian Stratification

Aeolian Stratification is a sedimentary structure formed by the deposition and accumulation of wind-transported particulate matter in distinct, layer-parallel strata, distinguished from other sedimentary stratifications by its genesis in aeolian (wind-driven) geomorphic processes and characteristic bedforms such as cross-bedding, grainfall laminae, and avalanche-derived layers observed in dune and desert environments.
