Adventitious Root Evolution
Adventitious Root Evolution is a theoretical construct in plant evolutionary biology that explains the developmental and genetic mechanisms underlying the emergence of roots from non-root tissues during the evolutionary transition of land plants, distinguishing it from the evolution of primary and lateral roots originating from pre-established root apical meristems.
