Adsorption Mechanisms
Adsorption Mechanism is a physical or chemical process by which atoms, ions, or molecules from a gas, liquid, or dissolved solid adhere to the surface of a solid or liquid material through specific intermolecular interactions, thereby distinguishing itself from bulk phase phenomena by its surface-localized nature and dependence on surface energy and molecular affinity.
