Adiabatic Optimization is a quantum optimization method that belongs to the class of adiabatic quantum computing techniques, distinguished by its reliance on the adiabatic theorem to evolve a quantum system from the ground state of a simple initial Hamiltonian to the ground state of a problem Hamiltonian encoding the solution to an optimization problem.
