Acylium Ions

Acylium Ions is a type of reactive cationic intermediate characterized by the general structure R–C≡O⁺, in which a positively charged carbon atom is triple-bonded to an oxygen atom and single-bonded to an alkyl or aryl group, distinguishing it from other carbonyl-containing species by its linear geometry and high electrophilicity at the carbon center.
