About

Abduction is a type of logical inference focused on generating explanatory hypotheses for observed phenomena. It is the process of moving from an observed effect to the most plausible explanation or cause that would account for that effect, distinct from deductive (rule to outcome) or inductive (case to rule) reasoning. This methodological approach is crucial for generating new theories, diagnoses, and insights in research by formulating the best possible explanation given incomplete or surprising information, which can then be tested through other methods.
