Abandonment Processes is a site formation process that refers to the set of cultural and natural mechanisms responsible for the cessation of human occupation and the subsequent transition of a site into a post-occupational phase, distinguishing it from other formation processes by its focus on the conditions and transformations occurring at the moment and aftermath of site desertion.
