Phonon Pairing Paradigm era

J. R. Schrieffer [1], whose work spanned the University of Pennsylvania [3] and Cornell University [4] during the Phonon Pairing Paradigm era, helped shape the conventional theory of superconductivity. Philip W. Correlation-Driven Superconductivity era

C. W. Chu [1] conducted pivotal work at Johns Hopkins University [3] and the University of California, San Diego [4] during the Correlation-Driven Superconductivity era. Chu [1] and coauthors reported superconductivity at 93 K in a mixed-phase Y-Ba-Cu-O system at ambient pressure [6], and evidence for superconductivity above 40 K in the La-Ba-Cu-O system [7], marking a watershed in the field by illustrating correlation-driven pairing beyond conventional lattice-mediated explanations. R. L.
