43S Pre-initiation Complex

The 43S Pre-Initiation Complex is a eukaryotic translation initiation intermediate that comprises the small ribosomal subunit 40S, associated initiation factors (including eIF1, eIF1A, eIF3, and eIF5), and the initiator methionyl-tRNA base-paired to the start codon in the P-site, distinguishing it from other pre-initiation assemblies by its readiness to scan the mRNA and commit to translation initiation.
