작물재배지 토양에서 농약잔류량의 연차별 변동량을 파악하기 위해 1999년부터 2006년까지 8년간 4년 1주기로 전국의 논, 시설재배지, 밭, 과수원 순으로 농경지 토양에 대하여 동일지점과 동일시기에 농약잔류분포와 변동 경향을 조사하였다. 논토양에 대한 농약잔류는 1999년도에 butachlor 등 14종 농약이 최고 0.25 mg $kg^{-1}$ 수준까지 검출되었고, 검출 빈도는 0~21.7%로 butachlor가 가장 높았다. 2003년에 논토양의 경우 7성분이 검출되어 0~36.0% 검출빈도를 나타냈고, 그 중 isoprothiolane과 oxadiazinon이 36.0과 33.3%로 가장 높은 검출 빈도를 나타냈다. 시설재배지에 대한 농약잔류는 2000년에 57종 농약성분이 검출되었으며, 검출빈도는 0~65.3%로 토양살충제인 endosulfan과 살균제인 procymidone이 65.3과 50.0%로 높게 잔류되었다. 2004년에는 19종의 농약성분이 검출되었으며, 검출빈도는 0~21.3%로 2000년에 비해 상당히 낮아지는 경향이었다. 특히, endosulfan과 procymidone의 검출빈도는 각각 21.3과 9.3%로 2000년에 비해 낮게 검출되었다. 밭토양에 대한 농약잔류는 2001년도에 25종 농약이 최고 2.24 mg $kg^{-1}$까지 검출되었고, 검출빈도는 0~53.5%이었으며 endosulfan과 pendimethalin이 각각 53.5과 18.2%로 높게 검출되었다. 2005년에는 2001년과 같이 검출된 성분의 수는 동일하였으나 endosulfan 성분의 검출빈도가 70.0%로 높게 나타났다. 2002년 과수원토양에 대한 농약잔류는 26종 농약이 검출되었고 endosulfan 성분이 최고 1.43 mg $kg^{-1}$ 수준까지 검출되었으며 검출빈도는 45.3%이었다. 2006년은 20종 농약성분이 검출되어 2002년보다 검출빈도가 낮았다. Endosulfan 성분은 2002년에 비해 5.3%로 낮게 검출되어 잔류분포가 점차 낮아지는 경향을 나타냈다. A series of monitoring studies were carried out to evaluate the residue level of pesticides in different native soils from 1999 to 2006. The nation-wide collection of soil samples from paddy, greenhouse, upland and orchard, were analyzed by GLC (ECD or NPD) and GC/MS. The results obtained are summarized as follows; out of 14 pesticides detected from paddy soils in 1999, the highest residue level was 0.25 mg $kg^{-1}$, and the frequency was 21.7% as butachlor, 20.0% as isoprothiolane, and 16.7% as iprobenfos. In 2003, 7 pesticides were detected and their frequencies were 0~36.0%; the frequency was 36.0% as isoprothiolane and 33.3% as oxadiazon. In the year 2000, 57 pesticides in the greenhouse soil samples were detected with the highest frequency of 65.3%. Of the pesticides detected, endosulfan and procymidone showed the frequency of 65.3 and 50.0%, respectively. In 2004, 19 pesticides were detected from greenhouse soils, and their frequencies and residue levels were decreased. Endosulfan and procymidone showed high detection frequencies and concentrations of 21.3 and 9.3% and 0.76 and 0.31 mg $kg^{-1}$, respectively. In 2001, a total of 25 pesticides were detected through monitoring in 170 upland soils and the highest residue level was 2.24 mg $kg^{-1}$. The detection frequencies showed the range of 0~53.5%. Especially, endosulfan showed the highest frequency of 53.5%. Residue levels and frequencies of pesticide in the year 2005 were almost the same compared with that of the year 2001. As a result of monitoring in 150 orchard soils in 2002, 26 pesticides were detected and the highest residue level was 1.43 mg $kg^{-1}$. Of them, the frequency of endosulfan showed the highest as 45.3%. In 2006, 20 pesticides were detected in orchard soils. The frequency of total endosulfan was the highest as 5.3% but was lower than that of the year 2002.
