Finfish diversity in the trawl fisheries of southern Kerala

Abstract

Among the maritime states of India, Kerala with
\na coastline of 590 km and 39,139 sq km of continental
\nshelf area enjoys the distinction of being the foremost
\nmarine producer and exporter. The potential yield of
\nthe area up to 200 m depth has been estimated to
\nbe about 8 lakh tonnes.
