Investigation of Voltage and Current Variations in a Multiphase AC Electric Arc System

Abstract

The paper is devoted to investigation of periodical electric processes in electric arc multiphase plasma generators with dependant electric arc and these processes impact on the supply network. A diagram of the experimental plant on the basis of a three-phase AC plasma generator is represented. Experiment results are reported. The dependences of harmonic composition of electric parameters on variable parameters (arc current, voltage drop, on the arc) от изменяемых параметров (power supply current, working gas flowrate through the plasma generator) are constructed. Obtained dependences are analyzed. A hypotheses on reasons and mechanisms of higher and lower harmonics in current and voltage oscillograms is offered. Recommendations on decrease or elimination of effect of these harmonics on the supply network. are provided . The results of the investigations will be used at creation of power supply and control system of power electric arc plasma generators.
