Abstract

Although subconjunctival anesthesia provides better pain control during intravitreal injections, its application is more painful and leads to subconjunctival haemorrhage. Moreover, the mean total pain scores are similar in both methods. Therefore, topical anesthesia may be more suitable for daily practice.
