Factors associated with germination of sugar-beet seed in the standard test and establishment in the field

(...) The objective of this study was to identify these characters. Thirty-seven samples of seed were analysed for germination percentage, true seed weight and nitrogen concentration, leachate conductivity and soluble material, base temperature of termination and rate of root extension and hypocotyl growth. Many of these characteristics were significantly associated with germination percentage and with each other. (...)
