Near Infrared Spectroscopy for Intraoperative Monitoring of the Spinal Cord

Abstract

This near infrared spectroscopy technique monitors changes in oxygenation of the spinal cord, and therefore appears capable of intraoperative warning about impending vascular compromise of the spinal cord.
