These data suggest that NaP is safe and tolerable in diabetic patients, but the quality of bowel cleansing is worse than in non-diabetic patients. These observations support the concept that the quality of bowel cleansing in those with type 2 diabetes is closely related to the duration and regulation of the disease and the presence of late complications.
