2) and M(4-bipy)1.5(ox)·nH2O where :n=1f or Mn(II); n = 2 for Co(II) and Cu(II) have been prepared. They have been characterized by IR and VIS spectra and thermoanalysis (TG, DTA, DTG) in air. The central atoms M(II) form coordinate bonds with title ligands.The oxalate and 2-bipy coordinate as chelate ligands. During heating, the complexes decompose via different intermediate products to appropriate oxides Mn3O4, CoO, NiO and CuO.
