This article gives an overview of the VTT Technical Research Centre in Finland. It is the largest contract research organization in Northern Europe. The article gives brief accounts of specialty research areas, such as: information technology and logistics, energy consumption and the environmental impact of transportation, road transportation, aviation, rail, maritime, and structural technology of infrastructure. Also included is a list of the various international organizations of which VTT is a member.
