Synopsis n The safe and economical design of curved spatialnframes necessitates a geometrical nonlinear analysis ofnthe structure. In this report, the nonlinear equationsngoverning such structural behaviour are derived. Solutionnstrategies which are capable of analysing the post-bucklingnbehaviour of structures are also criticallynreviewed. In addition, an extrapolation stiffness methodnthat lends itself to a more efficient solution of thennonlinear equations than conventional Newton-Raphson methodsnis presented.n n The post-buckling responses of various spatialnframes are analysed and the results found to be in goodnagreement with available published work.nn
