Abstract

Reboiler systems have been an important part of process plant design since the beginning of the chemical process industries (CPI). However, some of the details that go into the design of a reboiler system are unappreciated by many chemical engineers, and attention to detail is of utmost importance. This article reviews the details of reboiler system design and how they affect the system from maintainability, operability, and safety standpoints.
