The pupils of 15 patients with myotonic dystrophy tvere examined with the electronic pupillograph of Loioenstein and Loeioenfeld. They were found to have round, equal, miotic pupils which reacted sluggishly to light and to near vision. The studies showed no defect of the sympathetic pathways. Pupillary fatigue was comparable to the normal. Various locations for a defect causing this combination of pupillary abnormalities are discussed. The midbrain is suggested as the most likely location.
