„In the history of the world, Switzerland will have the last word. Victor Hugo. „Since outside of jail everyone was attacking everyone and because they feel safe only in jail not to be attacked, the Swiss consider themselves free, more free than all other men, free as prisoners in the jail of neutrality. There is only one difficulty about this jail, namely to prove that it is not a jail but a haven of freedom, as is, viewed from the outside, a jail is a jail and its occupants are prisoners he who is confined is not free: the outside world considers only the wardens as free, since if they would not be free, they would be prisoners. To solve this basic contradiction, the prisoners invented the general duty for military service; each prisoner proves his freedom in being his own warden. Friedrich Durrenmatt.
