Abstract

Equipment is described with which specimens of clay, varying in type from soft and quick to stiff and fissured, can be cut and mounted with a minimum of disturbance in such testing equipment as triaxial cells and consolidation machines. The equipment is based on the requirement that the specimen must be fully supported and never subjected to shear strains throughout the entire process of cutting and mounting. /Author/
