The results of this study, plus additional observations on two other cretinous subjects with goiter, on patients treated with thiouracil and on experimental animals, have been the basis of speculation regarding the rôle of hyperplasia in the genesis of neoplasia. Since studies of the type made on the two cretinous brothers are instructive, the results are presented below in detail, together with brief clinical histories.CASE REPORTSCase 1. R.
