Landscape and sustainable development - challenges of the European Landscape Convention

Abstract

This book is the product of workshops resulting from the Council of Europe landscape convention which aims to promote the protection, management and planning of European landscape and the organisation of European cooperation in this area. The chapters include: landscape and social, economic, cultural and ecological approaches (M Prieur); landscape and individual and social well-being (Y Luginbuehl); landscape and spatial planning policies (F Zoido Naranjo); landscape and innovative tools (B de Montmollin); landscape and identification, assessment and quality objectives (Y Luginbuehl); landscape and awareness-raising, training and education (B Pedroli and J D van Mansvelt); landscape and policies, international programmes and transfrontier landscapes (M Prieur); and landscape and public participation (M Prieur and S Durousseau).
