A biological evaluation of the Delaware River estuary

Abstract

This report deals with the biological productivity of a
\nunit of Nature, the Delaware River estuary. In many respects
\nthis estuary and its productivity is similar to that of the
\nseveral other estuaries along the Atlantic coast of North
\nAmerica, but each, like a person, has its own individual
\ncharacteristics. This productivity and related biological,
\nchemical, geological, and physical characteristics of the
\nDelaware River estuary are not known fully, yet they are being
\nstudied and the descriptions and knowledge obtained each year
\ncan be useful to those persons concerned with the best use of
\nour coastal areas.
