Abstract

Emissions of N2O and NO from co-combustion of coal and biomass in a bench-scale fluidized-bed combustor were investigated. The results show that such co-combustion can reduce emissions of N2O and NO effectively. The emissions decrease as the biomass/coal ratio increases. Reasons for this, based on the mechanisms of N2O and NO formation and reduction, are discussed.
