Abstract

This monograph is a comprehensive work including a critical survey of the literature. The points of the author are well illustrated. The work is divided into eight chapters. In the first chapter the author discusses the various methods that have been employed in the study of the blood supply to the heart, and in conclusion describes his own technic, which is an improvement over any heretofore reported. In the second chapter the blood supply to the ventricles and auricles is described. The author points out that there is a wide variation in the distribution of the coronary arteries which he reserves for consideration in the third chapter. He overcomes this difficulty by describing the theoretical heart representing the average construction from the study of one hundred normal specimens.
