Five species of galatheidean crustaceans are reported from active thermal vent areas in the southwest Pacific back arc basins: Uroptychus bicavus sp. nov. and U. thermalis sp. nov., both from the North Fiji Basin; Munida magniantennulata Baba and Ttirkay, 1992, from the Lau Basin, Munidopsis lauensis sp. nov. from the Lau and North Fiji Basins, and M. starmer sp. nov. from the North Fiji Basin.
