This report consists of a literature survey and an analysis of the effects of motor-vehicles equipped with daytime running lights (drl) on traffic accidents and driver behavior. The growing use of drl from the very beginning in the early 1960's to the present time is also reviewed. Finally, drl are evaluated as a traffic safety measure. (a)
