Tidal Power from the Severn Estuary

Abstract

The British government set up a committee in 1978 to advise on whether to proceed with a scheme to build a barrage across the Severn estuary for the generation of electricity. Besides engineering and economic considerations the committee considered the ecological consequences of a barrage.
