Cytomegalovirus colitis in immunocompetent patients: a clinical and endoscopic study.

Abstract

CMV colitis in immunocompetent patients presented in older patients and in those with other comorbidities. Gastrointestinal bleeding was the most common initial presentation. Despite aggressive clinical manifestations, the prognosis of CMV colitis is good if diagnosed and treated early.
