Primary gastric impaction in the horse

Abstract

SUMMARY Four cases of primary gastric impaction in the horse were diagnosed at surgery. The clinical findings had been unremarkable except for unrelenting pain. All horses had been given mineral oil before surgery. The impactions responded well to injection of water or saline solution into the stomach at surgery.
