The degradation of Ca anode in ester/ether electrolytes is attached to an organic-rich SEI. On this basis, we propose a desirable Ca 2+ solvation sheath rich in AGG and obtain inorganic-rich SEI, achieving high reversible Ca 2+ plating/striping.
